Before the release of his Krenshaw EP on March 4, Brighton-based techno mangler Bobby Champs sent over this exclusive track not found on his upcoming record. "Tragic" follows patterns similar to the crunchy dancefloor sounds on Krenshaw, adhering to his "trademark boxy drums." The breakneck track's pummeling bass and daunting vocal sample simultaneously evoke a sense of paranoia and suffocation, and yet it still bursts with energy ripe for any proper soundsystem.

This week on Forecast, the guest mix is supplied by Bobby Champs ahead of his imminent release on WNCL Recordings.

West Norwood Cassette Library is a label we love here on Forecast, and label boss, Bob WNCL graced the show with our first ever live vinyl guest mix, back in May of 2012 (listen back + tracklist HERE), so we were extra-hyped to hear they are about to release new-techno maverick, Bobby Champs.

Champs first caught our attention around 6 months ago with his Pictures Music release, a cracking set of tracks with incredibly high production values. Since then, Brighton's Bobby Champs has gone on to release on the prestigious Hypercolour imprint, and is now preparing to launch his next missile from WNCL.

This new EP is powerful. We've given a few tracks a spin on the show - the ones that stand out to us are the A-side, a track entitled Krenshaw; a haunting sample matched with a tearaway techno beat and on the flip side, City Boy which is  due to be an anthem. The EP is due 4th March and is available for pre-order HERE.
